Erocell® 200FL, spherical beads, is produced as “Expandable Polystyrene” containing Pentane as expansion agent and flame retardant additive.

Eurocell® 200FL is in EPS class with flame retardant, which can be produced in density ranges between 10 kg/m3 (two expansion) – 14 kg/m3 suitable for block covering, which is cohered in a very good manner and for shape molding with a section thickness of 20 mm, and over ensuring rapid molding with its short cycle time.
Eurocell® 200FL in general is used for heat insulation, blocks with low and medium density, block cutting molds, block production for construction applications; it is quite good recognized as a recyclable (ply added) material allowing flexibility applications i.e. foot impact and voice insulation.
All Eurocell® products packaging are made in standard big-bag packages of 1100 or 1125 kg. The product protection is ensured by means of a content insulated plastic inner lining placed between the product and big bag.
Eurocell® 200FL should be stored in well-ventilated storage areas with a temperatures preferably not exceeding 25°C. It should be protected against unsuitable weather conditions and direct sun light. Partially used containers should be closed as tight as original conditions, paying attention to avoid any space between the raw material and lining, and should be consumed in a short time. In order to maintain the expansion potential it is recommended to start the transformation within one month after delivery, if the package is not opened.
From expansion of the beads to block or mold shaped products, the entire transformation process is managed with water vapor. Eurocell® 200FL can reach a density of 10 kg/m3 with two expansion processes and can be expanded in densities between 10 kg/m3 – 14 kg/m3. The minimum density achievable may vary depending on the expander type and process conditions
As temporary storage time in silos are 3-12 hours recommended depending on the density, atmosphere and process conditions. . In order to obtain accurate results make sure that the regrind product is made from the same type of flame retardant material. For special applications please contact our technical service.
Eurocell® 200FL requires to be avoided restrictively from sparks and flames during phases of processing and storage. Grounding of entire equipment and machines are required, in order to prevent against static electricity development on the product conveying lines and during product processing. Also ensure ventilation on floor level during the storage and process phases. Please make sure to read the “Material Safety Data Sheet” (MSDS), which contains entire details of the measurements required to be taken.
The fire reaction of products, obtained by processing of Eurocell® 200FL, are certificated as “E class” as per the EN 13501-1 standard. Depending on the obtained density and atmosphere conditions; it should be considered that products obtained by processing Eurocell® 200FL may contain Pentane gas after the process, and accordingly they should be matured for a sufficient time in order to ensure the removal of the Pentane. The effect of the flame retardant additive is only released after total elimination of Pentane trapped in the final product.
Eurocell® 200FL is not suitable and not permitted to be used in food contact applications.
